I'm relatively new to Seattle and I would like to start up a group that collaborates and produces short films on a regular basis. More than just a networking or discussion group, I would like this to be an active group that produces work consistently. We share scripts and story ideas, vote on one to produce, and we do it. We pool our resources and we make movies - hopefully every other month. We can submit these movies to festivals or just screen them for ourselves for critique and discussion.
Welcome to Eastside Sci-Fi and Fantasy Writers. We are a group of local writers who enjoy meeting once or twice a month in local libraries to give each other support and encouragement in order to continue writing. Feel free to join us at any time, and please post a sample of your writing before each meeting so we can read it before hand. That can be a bit of a time saver. Come to the meetings equiped with hard copies of your writing, the willingness to help others and a sense of humor. Bring yo …

My name is Myrissa Yamashiro and I am the owner and operator of Anytime Fitness in Redmond Ridge. If you knew me 10 years ago - it would be hard to envision that my future would include owning a fitness club, becoming a certified personal trainer and helping others change their lives for the better. The reality was I was an overweight (obese) stay-at-home- mom. To make a long story short I lost weight and here I am today. My fitness journey has taken me to places I could never have imagined. …

Who Is TCAD Seattle? On May 23, Muhammad Yunus spoke at Seattle Town Hall and showed a trailer for a inspirational documentary he's in, called "To Catch A Dollar," due out in September. Several attendees talked with Yunus, Gayle Ferraro, the film maker, and Kathleen Wells, the project director from Grameen Research. When we asked if we could help, they said yes. This volunteer group was formed in the days that followed, with a short term objective of building support for promotion of the mov …

… This seems to be a pretty common story. Many leaders and organizers learn how to lead and organize on their own - which is great. But, it can also be hard. That's why I'm creating The Seattle Metameetup. My goal is to increase the quality of events in Seattle by having Organizers teach other Organizers how to be better Organizers. The focus will be knowledge transfer both by discussion and short, topic-specific presentations.
