Here's the deal: Every other week, we meet up and randomly pick a "seed" sentence from a newspaper, website, sign, fortune cookie, whatever. Then we write for thirty minutes, using that sentence as the first in the story. After thirty minutes, anyone who is so inclined can read his story out loud and we can discuss. There's a bunch of research that creativity is often sparked by "constraints" (in this case, using a pre-determined sentence) so the intent here really is to spark your creativity. I …
This group centers around a fun writing exercise. To create Fast and Furious fiction based on a single inspirational sentence or excerpt from a newspaper, magazine or tabloid publication. I'll bring the pub, the group chooses the starter and we write for 30-45 minutes (tbd per meeting). Once we "put down our pencils" you can sit back and listen or share what you wrote.
