The new language of video is pervasive. It has become the medium for training, entertainment, social advocacy, promotion, and just plan diversion. Creating short (less than 10 minute) well crafted stories requires a small group effort that moves us from our reliance on the online world to face to face collaboration with like minded creative people. This meet up group will bring together small teams of creative individuals to work together to conceptualize, plan, execute and critique short video …
Do you like to write? If yes, do you find it difficult to make time to sit down and write? This is a meetup group for people to get together and, well, write. The group (or whoever RSVPs) meets once a week. For 1-2 hours (or however long you can stay) we sit down and write quietly. Once a month we'll get together afterwards to talk about our writing or just socialize. I'm not interested in critiquing, lectures, and the like.
Writer’s Block: Is It Real? Why do we want to write but find ourselves unable to do it? Perhaps it is as simple as this: We are simply having a thought -- a thought like: I don’t have the time. It won’t be any good. I’ll just quit anyway. I always do. No one will like it. I don’t feel like it. It’s too hard. I need to feel moved to write. I need to be inspired. There will be no pay off. I am no good at it. Not really. Others are better at it than I am. I’m too tired. I need to watch TV or check …

No club, if it wants to survive, can open itself to all comers. Clubs depend on exclusivity; if the conditions of membership aren’t enforced or argued away by the more insincere members, it dies or becomes something only faintly resembling what it set out to be. Let me begin, then, by telling you exactly what I want this club to be. Once a month, Bostonians who enjoy reading aloud great literature will gather at one of city’s premier watering holes to do just that. (Dive bars won’t provide the q …
Creative writing is exciting. We are more likely to grow as writers, both in the enjoyment of our craft and in our productivity, when we are in community with other writers. Writing does not need to be lonely and unproductive, but should be an fulfilling and liberating form of creativity and self-expression. As a member of The Writers' Workshop, you can belong to a community of fellow writers who will encourage you in your craft. Each writer should come to each week's writing session with a pen …
