Poetry, short stories, plays, novels, history, philosophy, science, not necessarily in that order, classics that are worthy of discussion, current and past, western and non-western, these are the works we discuss. The discussion is what is most important. We discuss these works to enlarge our understanding of the ideas that shape our culture and gain a deeper appreciation for what it means to be human.

A few of us (well, two) aspiring science fiction/fantasy writers were looking for a serious critique and write-sharing group to join. We are a writing group that has been around for almost two years. We have had five long term members and are now looking for a few additions to our group. The central point of this group is to explore womanhood through writing. I'm a twenty-four year old female and I recently wrote out my life story in a very truthful, raw way. It was an incredibly healing practice for me. Much of my writing centered on moving through body hatred and feelings of inadequacy as a woman.
