The Alameda Writers Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving writers of all stages of development and all genres. Our mission is to educate, inspire and support our members in their writing careers by offering resources, access to industry professionals, networking opportunities and creating signature events such as peer groups and guest lectures.

This is a group for writers of all levels who are actively working on developing their craft. You can be working on anything, but the key words here are "active" and "working". We are a community of writers who like to get together with our fellow writers and exchange ideas, lend support and gentle and constructive critique. We will meet twice monthly on Wednesday evenings for a light meal and to share our work and to socialize and network with our peers.

Mocha Scribes is committed to promoting writers of color or writers who wish to tell stories based on characters of color.  If you have a sitcom, drama, feature film, web series, short film, show treatment—then you need to be in this group.  We meet twice monthly and at each meeting we focus on one writer’s submitted work.  The group provides helpful and encouraging comments to move the screenwriter’s work from the page to the screen.
